세계 최초의 자동차 공장을 세운 에밀 르바소.

1893년 3월 프랑스의 파리경찰이 실시한 최초의 운전면허 시험에서 합격. 출발,정지,커브만 돌 수 있으면 카드를 발급했는데 가지고 다닐 수 없는 액자 크기의 합격증 이었다. 차가 늘어나자 사고가 심심찮게 발생하자 단속 하기 위해 6년후인 1899년 3월 파리경찰이 조그만 카드식으로 발급하여 휴대를 의무화 시켰다.

In March 1893, the first driver's license test by the Paris Police in France was successful. It issued a card when it was possible to start, stop, or turn, but it was a frame-size pass that you could not carry. As the number of cars increased, the accident occurred so frequently that the Paris Police issued a small card in March 1899 to make it mandatory to carry it.
