1898년 영국 귀족 사세로프 루바경은 자신이 직접 설계하여 만든 최고시속 64Km를 자랑하는 전기자동차를 내세워 증기자동차를 가지고 있던 한 친구와 스피드 대결을 제안했다. 당시의 자동차들은 시속 40Km를 넘지 못하는 실정이었으므로 루바경은 우쭐해 있었다.
전기자동차와 증기자동차의 한판 승부가 벌어진다는 소문은 순식간에 유럽대륙에 퍼지면서 벨기에의 자동차 매니아였던 까뮈 제나치에게도 전해졌다. 때마침 그는 파리에서 열릴 자동차경주에 출전하기 위해 로켓모양의 파격적인 전기자동차 제나치 라 자매 콩텐(Janatgy La Jamais Content)을 만들고 있었다. 까뮈는 로켓자동차가 완성되던 1899년 4월 루바경에게 스피드 도전을 했다. 29일 오전 10시. 마차 모양을 한 루바경의 전기자동차와 까뮈의 로켓형 전기자동차 두 대가 파리 교외의 앗세루 공터에서 스피드 대결을 벌였다. 루바경의 기록은 시속 69Km였고, 까뮈는 3Km의 자갈길 코스에서 최고시속 103Km의 무서운 스피드를 기록했는데, 이것이 시속 100Km를 돌파한 세계 최초의 기록으로 남아있다.
