프랑스 변호사이자 사업가였던 에드워드 사라쟁의 미망인인 루이스 사라쟁 부인은 고트리브 다임러에게서 다임러의 엔진을 얹은 자동차를 파리 및 벨기에에서 만들어서 팔 수 있도록 제조판매권을 취득하고, 신형차 한 대를 선물로 받아 600km나 되는 거리를 직접 운전해 파리로 돌아왔다.
그녀는 남편의 친구이자 사업가였던 에밀 르바소(Emile Levassor)와 합작하여 1889년 세계 최초의 자동차 메이커인 파나르 르바소(Panhard Levassor)社를 설립 하고, 에밀과 재혼 하였다.
1903년경 1,500명의 종업원을 거느리며 연간 1,000대 이상의 자동차를 생산하는 세계최대의 회사로 성장 했으나, 2차대전후 경영 악화로 프랑스 시트로엥에 흡수 되었다.

She collaborated with her husband's friend and businessman Emile Levassor to remake the world's first car maker, Pannard Levassor, in 1889.
It grew to be the largest company in the world that produces more than 1000 cars per year with 1,500 employees around 1903, but it was absorbed into Citroën, France, due to deteriorating operations before and after the Second World War.
