국내에서 가장 생산성이 높은 공장은 현대자동차의 아산공장이다.
2001년 영국의 조사 전문기관인 '월드마케팅 리서치'가 발표한 '전세계 자동차 조립공장의 생산성 분석'자료에 따르면 이공장은 근로자 1인당 연간 생산대수가 144대로 세계 자동차공장 생산성 순위에서 4위를 차지하였다.
충남 아산시 안주공단에 위치한 현대자동차 아산공장은 그랜저XG와 뉴EF쏘나타를 생산하고 있는데, 평균 57초 간격으로 차 한 대가 생산되고 있는셈이다. 이곳의 평균 공장 가동률은 99.1%으로 종일 생산라인이 멈춰선 시간을 계산하면 10분 남짓하다.
한편 1998년 세계 생산성 1위를 차치한 대우자동차 창원공장은 85대로 19위를 차지하였다.

The Hyundai Asan factory in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, manufactures Grander XG and the New EF Sonata, which are producing one car every 57 seconds. The average factory operation rate here is 99.1 %, 10 minutes or more, depending on how long the production lines have been frozen throughout the day.
Meanwhile, Daewoo Motors Corp., which ranked No. 1 in global productivity in 1998, ranked 19th with 85 units.
