1920년대 초 서울에서 자동차왕이라고 불렸던 중국인 담걸생은 자동차영업을 하기 위해 최초의 자동차광고를 냈다.
 "춘풍이 점차 화창한 시절에 여행이나 혹은 공원, 교외에서 신선한 공기를 흡수하시고 천연한 경색을 감상코자 하시는 신사숙녀 제위께서는 마카도자동차부의 미려 경쾌한 신식자동차를 필승하시압. 전화 본국 3433…."
 지금의 을지로 2가에 미카도라는 택시회사를 세우고 당시 서울에 있던 10개 택시업체와 경쟁할 때 손님을 끌기 위한 기발한 아이디어로 신문을 이용한 첫 광고였다.  이 미카도택시회사의 자동차가 얼마나 고급이고 최신형이었던지 신문에 평론까지 났었다.
 "경성 장안의 하이칼라 자동차라고 하면 황금정2정목(을지로 2가)에 있는 미카도자동차를 가르킴이니라. 그 자동차는 외양부터가 화려할 뿐만 아니라 운전하는 데 조금도 동요되지 아니하고 타고 달리면 심기사 극히 상쾌하야 누구든지 미카도자동차를 타게 된다 하더라…."
1963년 최초의 국산세단인 '신성호'를 부산에 있던 신진자동차공업이 순전히 손으로 철판을두들겨 만들어 탄생시켰다.
 신진자동차공업에서는 이 국산차를 국민에게 널리 선전하기 위해 광복 후 처음으로 신문에 광고를 내었다. '국산 승용차 전시 아내' 라는 제명으로 1964년 4월 동아일보에 다음과 같이 보도되었다.
 "우리니라의 자동차공업은 과거의 후진성을 탈피하고 본격적인 공업화에 임하는 새로운 발전상을 띠게 되었습니다. 이제 폐사에서는 완전히 계열화된 국내의 100여 협력공장과 제휴하여 자동차 국산화체제를 갖추게 되었으며 그 일환으로 금번 '신성호'를 완성하게 되었습니다…." 이처럼 이야기 식이었다. 신진은 신성호를 1962년 일본에서 최초의 양장미인차였던 새나라 모양과 똑같이 손으로 두들겨 만들어 놀라게 했고 1964년 4월에는 10일 간 서울 시청앞 광장에서 전시하여 국내 최초의 모터쇼를 열였다.

 It was the first advertisement that used newspaper as a creative idea to create a taxi company called Mikado on present-day Euljiro 2-ga and compete with 10 taxi drivers in Seoul.  The new luxury and new-generation car of the Mikado Taxi Company was reviewed in the newspaper.

In 1963, Shinjin Automobile Company, the first Korean sedan in Busan, was created by hammering iron plates with hands.
 Shinjin Automobile Company advertised its Korean cars in the newspaper for the first time since its liberation from Japanese colonial rule. In April 1964, it was reported in The Dong-A Ilbo as " a Korean car display wife. "
 Our car industry is poised to enter a new phase of development, breaking away from the backwardness of the past. We are now setting up a home car boot system in partnership with over 100 fully integrated partner factories in Korea, and as a part of that, we are completing the " Shinseongho ". Shinjin hand-tapped Shin Seong-ho to look exactly like the new country's first car, the Yang Jang-mi, in 1962, and displayed the first Korean motor show in front of Seoul City Hall Square for 10 days in April 1964.
