1914년 오리이 자동차 상사라는 승합자동차 회사가 처음으로 전국 9개 노선을 허가받아 자동차 영업을 시작하면서 검은색 철판에 흰 글씨로 오른쪽에는 등록한 도시이름을 한문으로 위에서 아래로 내려 쓰고 왼쪽에는 경찰이 준 두자리 아라비아 숫자를 기재해 앞에만 달았다.
